What's your superpower?
On becoming an everyday superhuman by December 2026.

Little actions daily can make all the difference.

We’re the sum of a lot of many pieces that make us who we are. The key is to break those pieces down and decide how you would want to reassemble them. The things we’re proud of are our core building blocks, so you’d probably want to pick those up first.
But they come with a caveat. They’re often attached to something we’re less proud of—even ashamed of or attempt to hide and deny.
To start building, you’ll need to face the reality of what you’re scared of. You can’t hide it anymore. It requires honesty. But the beautiful thing is, once you face those negatively perceived forms head-on and work through them, the item it’s been attached to gets supercharged.
So choose one thing about yourself you're proud of. Then reflect on what might be hiding underneath the surface that I need to dig up and confront. Work through it. Take your time. Then move to the next.
Spend your 2026 doing that and you’ll become unrecognizable by December.

Your identity goes beyond your job title and what you do. You’re so much more than only that.

Reflection of the week
It’s 2026. And you get to choose only one superpower for this month.
What superpower do you choose to focus on in January?
The ability to change your mind when new information shows up
Staying calm when things around you aren’t
Being okay with being uncomfortable instead of running from it
Thinking for yourself, even when it’s unpopular
Not needing to win every argument or prove you’re right
Choosing your relationships intentionally, not by default
Being able to sit alone without feeling lonely
Not taking things personally
Responding instead of reacting
Letting go of ego when it gets in the way
Saying “I don’t know” without feeling smaller
Creating space before making decisions
Being consistent, not intense
Listening to understand, not to reply
Walking away from things that cost you your peace
I’ll do this once a month. Make it a checklist, trying to hone one superpower a month. So by December 2026, you’'ll have 12 everyday superpowers that put you ahead of everyone else.
Before you close this newsletter, pick one and take note of it.
A good read
Well, it’s the start of the year. Cliché, I know, but this is probably the book to read right now if you’re looking to build a habit or two with the new year. James Clear’s Atomic Habits was the reason I started documenting everything I eat, everything I pay, and doing my Duolingo daily for almost 2,000 days. And I’ve been doing that since 2020 after I had read the book by the end of 2019. So, not bad.
Give it a read, it might help. I don’t believe you should succumb to all the statistics that say you’re going to fail in keeping your commitments on new year’s. Try anyway, what have you got to lose?
Beat the odds.
How can I help?
I also happen to coach people. I learned from one of the world’s best, Robert Ellis.
Would you like to have a coaching conversation? Sometimes all it takes is a 30-minute deep conversation to point you in the right direction. Or give you a little nudge. Maybe you just need someone to hear you out. I’m here for you.

This past year has brought a lot of personal challenge and transition in my life. I’m still holding the grief of it all while learning who I’m becoming in this next chapter. It’s felt like a long initiation… one that’s been unfolding for years now (the life-long student of being a human, right? 😅), but particularly this year.
Right now, staying calm in the midst of chaos is something I’m intentionally prioritizing as I navigate lots of moving parts and changes.
This is a beautifully written post, Mohamed!
So, 2026, I love to reckon, is my pivot year beithn'Allah. How: Im not sure and I will be resolute to the best I can to survive than thrive. How: By helping myself become better and then for my circle of influence, help them as well. I will attempt Super Power 1 - to focus on decimating out of pocket (OOP) healthcare spending for the Underserved in Egypt (within my circle of influence - family, coworkers, underprivileged making less than USD 200 per month in Egypt). InshaaAllah (isA).
