Love Progress, Not Perfection
Early is Relative: Keep Going
*
Just because you’re not doing well in one place, it doesn’t mean there’s a problem with you. Most times, you just need to find the place that works for you.
That’s true for work as it is for relationships.
**
Temporary pain and discomfort is just that; temporary. But you still have to go through it to get to where you need to go.

Don’t quit out too early.
And early is relative. It can be months. It can be years.
Don’t quit on yourself.
Insights
Abraham Maslow on going after what you want:
"Everything you've ever wanted is on the other side of fear."
Margaret Thatcher on persistence:
"You may have to fight a battle more than once to win it."
Carol Burnett on taking accountability of oneself:
"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me."
Reflection of the week
We’re about 1/3 of the way through 2026.
With a little over 8 months to go, how does the year you had in mind for yourself back in January look like today?
Are you making progress on some of the big things you wanted to do?
Are you keeping commitments you made to yourself?
Are the new habits you tried to form still alive?
It’s okay if you answer YES to only 2, 1, or even none of the above questions.
Because, well…you still have 8 more months to go.
So consider this a refresher. What’re you going to do with what’s left of this year?
And remember, progress is always a positive.
Seek progress, not perfection.
A good read
I read this one back in 2020 at the start of covid.
This was my review of it -
Great read with a strong message. Relates so much to what's happening in the world at this exact moment in time. It's good though to see the world stepping up and the justice system finally taking the side of the oppressed.
The book is The Hate U Give and I recommend you give it a read.

I also happen to coach people. I learned from one of the world’s best, Robert Ellis.
Would you like to have a coaching conversation? Sometimes all it takes is a 30-minute deep conversation to point you in the right direction. Or give you a little nudge. Maybe you just need someone to hear you out. I’m here for you.
